IIEP’s annual Policy Forum

UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), in collaboration with multiple partners, is planning a Policy Forum in Paris from 16 to 18 of October on ‘Engaging youth in planning education for social transformation’.

The Policy Forum will bring together youth, policy-makers, academics, and practitioners from around the world, in a unique and interactive dialogue to promote the engagement of youth in education. The goal is to create a concrete agenda for action based on the key recommendations emerging from the Policy Forum and the virtual debates, which will then be taken forward in a number of countries as part of a follow-up programme.

Join the online debate leading up to the Policy Forum and answer the following questions:

  • How can education systems engage youth?
  • What are the barriers to meaningful youth engagement in education policy-making and planning?
  • What skills are needed for youth civic engagement?
  • How can youth engage in education to mitigate conflict and build peace?
  • How can education systems provide for future youth employment?

These are some of the questions that will be addressed during the Policy Forum, as well as during the online discussions leading up to the event.

Connect now to and have your say! Share your views, experiences, and resources. Your online contributions will feed into the debates at the Paris event, and the best contributions and materials will be showcased on the website both during the event and in the weeks leading up to it. Your views count!
