Dear EYE participant,

As a part of the follow up of the European Youth Event 2014, we are bringing your concerns and ideas where decisions are truly taken.

This initiative is called EYE Hearings and it will kick off next week (2 December 2014 – from 15:00 to 16:00) when 4 EYE participants will present key ideas developed during the EYE2014 to the Members of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee (EMPL) of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The format will be of an “ideas check”, in which the four EYE participants will be “idea givers” and the MEPs “idea catchers”, reacting to the proposed ideas.

In January 2015 (we’ll keep you posted on the exact dates), further key ideas, grouped according to the competence of the Parliament’s Committees, will be presented in six further committees: Constitutional Affairs (AFCO), Foreign Affairs (AFET), Culture and Education (CULT), Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE).

How can you participate in the EYE Hearings?

All the EYE Hearings will be web-streamed (at the following address http://epfacebook.eu/EYEHearings) and we invite you to contribute to the discussion by debating online on Twitter – using the hashtag #EYEHearings.

For this hearing, your tweets will be displayed on a Live Twitter Wall projected in the room during the hearing in front of all the Members!

If you want to interact directly with a Member of the EMPL committee, please find attached the list of names and their Twitter accounts.

Last but not least, if you still haven’t done so, to stay updated on anything concerning the European Youth Event, follow us on Twitter @EP_YouthEvent.

Regards,
The EYE-Team
